JFI Color Labs Incompetent Astroturf

This is some of the most incompetent astroturfing I've seen in a while...

Have you guys seen this? JFI BW Workflow for Capture One;

http://jfilabs.com/

When I learned the there was a company making B&W workflow solution for Capture Onet he first thing I said was "its about time!" . 3 weeks ago I purchased The JFI BW Toolkit for Cature One and really have to highly recommend this package. This thing has 17 B&W profiles for 15 dollars!!! The traditional Red, Orange, Green, Yellow at 4 levels of intensity and a standard B&W profile that looks very very much like traditional pan films. The output is absolutely over the top. I have been working with PS since version 2 and can tell you that you can't achieve this level of image quality in Photoshop B&W conversion in any flavor. Especially red filter output, you can never get the tonality as smooth as the output from this thing.

I just got my final payment on a wedding yesterday I did in B&W digitally. As many of you know this is normally not very feasible. 30 percent of my wedding clients want B&W these days. So I shoot Kodak BW400CN. The package was recommended to me by my printer and has changed the whole equation for me. I never spent a measly 15 bucks more wisely and got this much in return. In a nut shell this is very exiting for me and I am kinda over joyed and thought I would share the info you guys. What can I say, I love an easier way to make money.

P.S. this is my first time posting so hello to every one. I have enjoyed reading everyone's post over the years and picked up some great nuggets of info along the way. Thanks to all!

Top International story today, Bush to Take Unscripted Audience Questions.

As opposed to cherry-picked audience, scripted questions, scripted answers, and presumably wearing a receiver?

Testeez and csv.scm PLT 300 Packages

Per request, I've uploaded PLT 300 .plt and PLaneT packages for Testeez and csv.scm.

Although a PLT person says that the 299 versions of the package I've been distributing should work.

New Release of neilvandyke.action Privoxy Rules

New release of my Privoxy actions file. This includes major changes to reduce the number of false positives, as well as a policy change to not block ads that are served from the same server as the content (unless they're particularly obnoxious). License is GPL, since I've recently seen this ruleset incorporated into other systems questionably, and I'd like to keep it a good thing.

Google on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Would Martin Luther King Jr. want to be wrapped in Google branding? I think Google botched this one.

TPM on Iran Question

The prospect of a nuclearized Iran seems far more perilous to me than anything we faced or seemed likely to face with Iraq. But for those of us trying to think through how to deal with this situation, we have to start from the premise that there is no Iran Question, or whatever you want to call it. There's only how to deal with Iran with this administration in place.

Nikon Mostly Ditches Film

As a result of the new strategy Nikon will discontinue production of all lenses for large format cameras and enlarging lenses with sales of these products ceasing as soon as they run out of stock. This also applies to most of our film camera bodies, interchangeable manual focus lenses and related accessories.

After a MoveOn.org member has read your email call for donations, gone to your site, viewed the proposed ad, decided to donate, gone to the donation form, entered their name, email address, home address, and credit card info, checked the agreement, and pushed the button to commit to purchase or payment... Rupert Murdoch MySpace.com Censorship

Reportedly, MySpace.com has been silently censoring users' private and public messages. Entirely believable.

PLT Scheme 300 Packagings

I plan to release PLT Scheme 300 packages of all my currently-released Scheme libraries soon, replacing the 2xx and 299 packagings. If you have a pressing need for particular libraries packaged for PLT 300, let me know.
