After drooling over cameras for the last couple years, I finally broke down and bought a discontinued Canon S10 digital last week. Decent weather comes but two months a year in Boston, and we only have so many years. I rationalize that it's a belated graduation present to myself. I download photos to my Linux box using the convenient s10sh by Salvatore Sanfilippo. Digital is much less expensive than film for the amateur-grade imaging quality I want right now. Once I finish my PhD and become fabulously wealthy, I'll dabble with real cameras and darkrooms and such.
