Privoxy Rules

The neilvandyke.action add-on file for the Privoxy privacy-enhancing Web proxy server comprises approximately 8000 rules intended to generally improve online privacy and reduce annoyances. Individual rules block Web objects such as:

• Images, pages, and scripts that can be used to perform cross-site user tracking and profiling.

• Spyware.

• Sites and pages advertised in spam (on email, Wiki, CraigsList, Usenet, etc.).

• Sites that exist only to subvert search engines.

Here we use "block" to mean "selectively not download."

This file has its origins in my old Junkbuster blockfile, which I no longer maintain. If you still use Junkbuster, I generally recommend migrating to Privoxy. I started to rewrite junkbust.el for Privoxy, but haven't had time to do it properly.
